Luis Ayala
Luis Ignacio Ayala
Bats: Right
Throws: Right
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 170 lbs.
Born: January 12, 1978 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico
Signed: purchased by the Colorado Rockies from Saltillo, 1999
Acquired: traded from the Washington Nationals for a player to be named later (Anderson Hernandez), August 2008
After three stellar years for the Expos/Nationals, Luis injured his arm during the course of the first World Baseball Classic and missed the entire 2006 season. He came to the Mets in the midst of a disappointing 2008 campaign to help out a beleaguered bullpen. Shown here on 2003 Donruss The Rookies.
