The great Phillies Hall of Famer spent one season with New York (1962) and was named the Mets' Most Valuable Player for the season. Since the Mets had lost 120 games that year, Richie promptly retired. Pictured is a 1950s Red Man Tobacco card. Three more Ashburn cards are shown below.
