This six-time All-Star catcher joined his dad (the Mets' third-base coach) in camp for Spring Training 2007, accepted a AAA assignment, and joined the big club just before the All-Star break. Sandy Senior had logged 22 at-bats with the Mets in 1967, and Sandy Junior tallied exactly the same figure forty years later! In 2008, the two were both members of Willie Randolph's coaching staff, as he became the Mets' catching instructor. The younger Sandy is shown here on a 1991 Upper Deck card.
