Acquired: traded from the Florida Marlins with cash for Mike Jacobs, Yusmeiro Petit, and Grant Psomas, November 2005

 

Imposing slugger who was nearly signed before the 2005 season, Carlos was instead acquired the following winter after a one-year stop in Fishtown. His dedication and leadership proved to be inspirational to the young Mets of '06. Pictured here is his 2003 Stadium Club card; there are many more pictured below.
