Acquired: traded from the Milwaukee Brewers with Jeromy Burnitz, Lou Collier, Mark Sweeney, and cash as part of a three-team trade, January 2002; the Mets sent Lenny Harris and Glendon Rusch to the Brewers; the Mets sent Benny Agbayani, Todd Zeile, and cash to the Colorado Rockies; the Rockies sent Craig House and Ross Gload to the Mets; the Rockies sent Alex Ochoa to the Brewers
Departed: as a free agent, October 2002

 

Jeff was one of the most promising pitchers in the big leagues in 2000, but that year was surrounded on both sides by serious arm miseries. Willing to take a chance on that potential, the Mets brought him to New York as part of a huge multi-team trade in January of 2002. The card pictured here is from the 2001 Upper Deck Vintage set.
