Bud Harrelson said of Kevin in the mid-'80s that he would be the best shortstop the Mets ever had. That lofty prediction didn't get fulfilled completely, but he was still a good contributor. He also had one shocking season where he came back from nowhere to drive in 99 runs from the number nine position in the batting order for the Texas Rangers in 1996.
