Danny was still a successful big-league pitcher when his life was tragically cut short in a dune buggy accident following the 1976 season. His best year came in 1971 with the Mets, as he led the club in appearances and saves, struck out more than a batter per inning, and posted a sparkling 1.99 ERA. He's shown here on his 1969 Topps card.
