Joseph Carl Hietpas

Height: 6'3"
Weight: 220 lbs.

Joe came to the Mets in September 2004 when Vance Wilson's season was ended by surgery, and the only backup to the starter at the time (Jason Phillips) was a balky-kneed Mike Piazza. Joe finally appeared in his first big-league game on the last day of the season, catching the last inning of that game. He's pictured here on his 2002 Capital City Bombers card.
