Early in his career, Roberto was an elite closer for most of a decade with the White Sox. By the time he came to the Mets in 2005, though, he was 40 years old and hadn't posted a sub-4.00 ERA since five years previously with Tampa Bay. He answered the fans' skepticism by having a terrific year and becoming something of a favorite. Pictured here is an autographed 1992 Bowman card.
