Departed: traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers with
Jim Hickman for Tommy Davis and Derrell Griffith, November 1966

 

Ron was the first Met ever elected to an All-Star team. Almost a decade later, he was hit by pitches 50 times in one season. It is believed that the two incidents are unrelated. The prototypical slap-hitter, he didn't hit any ball longer than a double for the entire last three years of his career. He's pictured here on a 1960s Dodgers postcard, and there are more cards shown below.
