Lou Klimchock
Louis Stephen Klimchock
Batted: Left
Threw: Right
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 180 lbs.
Born: October 15, 1939 in Hostetter, PA
Signed: 1957 by the Kansas City Athletics
Acquired: sent from the Milwaukee Braves to complete an earlier deal, September 1965; the Braves had traded two players to be named later (Ernie Bowman and Klimchock) for Billy Cowan
Departed: traded to the Cleveland Indians with Ernie Bowman for Floyd Weaver, October 1966
Only got into five games for the Mets, but did spend time in the big leagues with such vanished franchises as the Kansas City Athletics, Washington Senators, and Milwaukee Braves. Had his most success, however, with the Cleveland Indians right at the end of his career. Pictured here at the beginning, on a 1960 Topps card.
