Ray Knight

Charles Ray Knight
Batted: Right
Threw: Right
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 190 lbs.
Born: December 28, 1952 in Albany, GA
Drafted: 10th round 1970 by the Cincinnati Reds
Acquired: traded from the Houston Astros for three players to be named later (Gerald Young, Manuel Lee, and Mitch Cook), August 1984
Departed: as a free agent, November 1986

Ray's greatest challenge as a player was replacing Pete Rose in the Cincinnati lineup, but his greatest triumph was undoubtedly the 1986 World Series, when he was voted the Most Valuable Player. That event is pictured here, on a 1987 Fleer World Series card. Six more cards are shown below, one for each big-league team that Ray played for, and one certified autograph card.
