Al was a Met fan as a child growing up, and was the Mets' ace for seven successful seasons. He was adored by the New York sporting public, and returned that adoration by his very active participation in local charities; not just giving his money, but giving himself. He is pictured on this 1987 TCMA card as a Yankees prospect. "Future Star?" Yes. (Many more cards are pictured below.)
