A Spring Training reclamation project became an early-season injury replacement for the Mets in 2006. With apologies to Mr. Lima (who by all accounts was a wonderful teammate), it's hard to imagine how he could have pitched more poorly for the Mets. He also has the dubious honor of having the worst qualifying ERA in history in both the National League (2000) and the American League (2005)! Jose is shown here on his 1999 Stadium Club card—a year when he won 21 games for the Astros.
