Little Sarge, we hardly knew ye! Gary, a superb glove man with developing batting skills that the Mets bought from Pittsburgh in December 2001, only spent two games in New York before being traded to Baltimore for minor-league reliever John Bale. Nearly a decade later, Gary came back to the Mets when Carlos Beltran missed the opening of the 2010 season following knee surgery.
