Acquired: traded from the Padres with Steve Reed for Bobby Jones, Jason Bay, and Josh Reynolds, July 2002

Jason was originally drafted by the Mets in 1993 but did not sign. The Mets then claimed him on waivers from the Padres in 2000 but the Padres claimed him right back a month later. Again came to the Mets in a trade with the Padres in late 2002, and finally made his first appearance for them in September. The card pictured here is from the 2001 Grandstand Southern League Top Prospects set.
