Dan had a monster year in the minors in 1964, creating hope that he would help lift the fledgling Mets out of their terrible early plight. Alas, not to be. Dan's major-league performance proved to be even worse than regular Mets fare, which was very bad indeed circa 1965. He is pictured here on a 1966 Topps card, at the beginning of his last stint in the big leagues.
