In 1966, Dennis had what was arguably the best season ever for a Met pitcher up to that point, with his 11-9 record and 3.20 ERA. Of course, Tom Seaver appeared in New York in 1967, and they started rewriting the record books. Denny is pictured on this card with the expansion Kansas City Royals (for whom he never actually appeared) on 1969 Topps. A card from his triumphant 1966 season is shown below.
