A power-hitting, Gold-Glove outfielder in Japan, Shinjo came to America in 2001 to see what he could do against big league pitching. The first season that he spent with the Mets, he was very successful, but after his sabbatical in San Francisco, he struggled when he tried to break into the New York outfield again. The card pictured here is from the 1995 Japanese BBM set.
