The Mets were linked to this 40-year-old lefty prior to the 2009 season, but he signed with the Blue Jays instead, subsequently being released in Spring Training. The Mets then signed him and, after posting an 0.77 ERA in eleven April innings with Buffalo, he got the call. He's shown here on a 2001 BBM card from Japan.
